China Day in Togo: Witnessing DTEC Green Tech Box Foldable Modular Homes Take Root on West African University Campuses

October 17, 2025 saw a warm atmosphere permeate the campus of the University of Lomé in Togo, West Africa — where the Chinese Embassy in Togo hosted a grand “China Day” event. Wang Min, Chinese Ambassador to Togo, along with Professor Unaké, President of the University of Lomé, and hundreds of faculty and student representatives, gathered together to witness a cross-continental dialogue on green technology.
On-site, Shenzhen DTEC Ltd., in partnership with the Shenzhen Foundation for International Exchange and Cooperation, officially launched its international public welfare brand, Green Tech Box, in Lomé — Shenzhen’s sister city in West Africa. A prefabricated foldable house equipped with photovoltaic systems was donated to the University of Lomé, which will be transformed into a “Green Technology Classroom” to serve local students. This initiative injects Chinese-driven momentum into West Africa’s sustainable development through innovative solutions.

This “green technology gift” from DTEC carries heartfelt goodwill and a sense of responsibility that has traveled thousands of miles. Departing from Shenzhen, the tech classroom and its full set of equipment sailed across the ocean for nearly two months, overcoming the challenges of long-haul transportation before finally taking firm root on the campus of Lomé.
As an innovative achievement of DTEC Technology in the field of green construction, this prefabricated photovoltaic foldable house boasts three core advantages: efficiency, low carbon footprint, and flexibility. Its modular design drastically speeds up the assembly process, enabling quick completion and commissioning; the built-in photovoltaic systems achieve self-sufficiency in clean energy, perfectly aligning with West Africa’s demand for sustainable energy solutions; its foldable structure reduces transportation and storage costs, providing a replicable DTEC Solution for the promotion of future projects.

On the afternoon of the “China Day” event, the very first “Green Technology Class” at the University of Lomé kicked off in high spirits inside the brand-new classroom. Nearly fifty students from the Polytechnic Institute and other faculties walked into the classroom brimming with curiosity about cutting-edge technologies, filling the room with a lively and dynamic atmosphere.
This unique and engaging session not only gave local young people a first-hand experience of green technology, but also sowed the seeds of “innovation-driven development” in their minds. It truly achieved a profound transformation from material donation to skill empowerment for sustainable growth.

One classroom is just the beginning. Going forward, DTEC Green Technology will continue to deepen its footprint in the African market, bringing more green foldable classrooms — along with the spark of hope — to campuses, communities, and rural areas across the continent.
Through technology transfer and capacity building, DTEC will keep leveraging green technology as a bridge to strengthen China-Africa cooperation in sustainable development. The warmth and power of China’s intelligent manufacturing will light the path of growth for more young Africans.
